The studio is situated in an oasis of calm right in the heart of the Marais area - a very beautiful, central part of "historic" old Paris. It's a ‘feel-good’ place in a lovely quiet Seventeenth Century courtyard with a huge oak-tree and plenty of greenery (and birds), just one street north of the Place des Vosges. The Picasso Museum, Georges Pompidou Centre, best contemporary art galleries - all are an easy walk from the studio. Shopping chic just around the corner... One of Paris’ most popular restaurants with terrace, practically across the street from the this Paris rental, and a choice of many others minutes away. Why look elsewhere?

On the ground floor with plenty of light and sun as windows take up the whole southern wall, and the next building is good 80 yards away. There is also light from the other side of the living room - a sound deadening double-glazed window looking out on the street (but higher than the passers by) so it gives the room a dynamic light from both sides.

A small entrance hall - to the left is the living room (about 20m²) and - straight on - the bathroom with a big bath-tub. It's difficult to explain, but after the bathroom there is a sort of a patio (covered with a see-through hard plastic roof) which has become a tiny kitchen with a sink and a work surface and a very flashy two burner stove top (no oven). This kitchen has built-in ventilation and is meant to be used for cooking so that you don't have to smell-up the living-room, which also has a kitchen corner (all in oak-wood) comprising a fridge advertised as the most quiet running in the world, a micro-wave oven, a toaster, a Nespresso coffee-machine, an electric kettle and cupboards for dishes etc. - meant for preparing snacks and breakfast.

The living room is furnished with an antique round oak table and a smaller rectangular table (also antique), a vey comfortable sofa-bed (with a real mattress) that opens to sleep two people plus a sofa that can sleep one, a book-shelf, CD and cassette player, TV and a clothes cupboard. The ceiling is high, so even though it's not very big, the place feels spacious.
