This charming one bedroom apartment has a magical location, being
both at the heart of Paris and very quiet. It is just one-half block
from the Place Des Vosges, the oldest arcaded square in Paris, and
minutes from all that the historic Marais and the nearby island of St Louis
have to offer -- antique shops, art galleries, boutiques, the Richard
Lenoir and other street markets, cafes, Picasso, Carnavalet and other museums, monuments
such as the Bastille, Canal of St Martin and more.
And it is also a haven- once you have closed the large entryway door
behind you and entered the cobblestone interior courtyard with its
trees and shrubs, you are (as many clients have told us) in “a quiet
oasis in the middle of Paris.”
One flight above street level in a small and historic seventeenth
century
building, the apartment has been freshened up with new appliances and
paint by its new owners who purchased it in May of 2008. We've
had many happy renters here as the previous owners also offered the
property through our service as well.
Keeping the charm
of its past - the decorative fireplaces, parquet floors, and ceiling
moldings - it has also a travertine marble bathroom, galley kitchen
that overlooks the living and dining areas, and an unusually large
bedroom equipped with a king size bed (separable into twins). The 55 m2
(580 sq foot) apartment is spacious and sunny. There are the usual amenities:
TV, wireless Internet connection for your lap top computer,
clothes washer, gas stovetop, microwave, small refrigerator, and all
necessary kitchen equipment. An additional service is a free phone
service to any land based line (not mobile or cell phones) to
the U.S., plus a welcome bottle of wine.
To accommodate two couples separately or up to 6 persons total,
book this apartment and our Place des Vosges
Treasure- ID #127 together (apartments are right next to each
other in the same building).

Hard to imagine a better location to get a feel of the
real Paris, not the tourists/over-priced shops/rush-rush Paris.
Galleries and tourist-friendly cafes are available close by, but so
are little local cafes and bars and markets where your French will be
challenged and where you will rub shoulders with actual Parisians, not
other tourists! Delightful, helpful owners are just upstairs (but
never intrude), and the apartment is spacious, especially compared to
most French rooms. Couldn't be happier with our choice!

gave a 9 for the vacuuming only because I dropped something under the
bed and that area had quite a few dust bunnies. I never would have
noticed if I hadn't been looking for something so I hesitate to even
mention it. Everything else was topnotch. The bed was very comfortable
with nice pillows and comforter. The bottle of wine and fresh flowers
were so welcoming. We felt right at home.
This was our first stay in an apt. and it would be tough to stay in a
hotel again. We loved the apt. and the Marais and would definitely
stay there again. Our laptop worked great and it was a plus to be able
to phone the U.S. without charge. We are very happy with the good
service we experienced with Vacation in Paris. We will recommend you!
