This elegant yet functional apartment is located in the heart of central Paris, in the 1st Arrondissement. In about 10 minutes on foot you can reach the Louvre Museum, the River Seine, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Opera, and the Pompidou Centre. The Marais District, Latin Quarter and the 6th district are also easy to explore on foot from the apartment; all are an easy 15 to 20 minute walk or quick metro ride. The RER trains are very close for access to Disneyland and Versailles as well as the airports.
This apartment is in a typical 19th century Parisian apartment building, and offers a high standard of comfort in a convenient and quiet central historic district, for a reasonable nightly rate.
The Les Halles Two Bedroom apartment is situated on the European 2nd floor (3rd US) no elevator and faces both the street and courtyard; five windows and a small balcony with 2 chairs face the street. The bedroom areas are not located street side, so there is no noise from traffic.
The apartment, at 80 m2 (@856 ft2), is suited for up to 7 persons wanting a comfortable living space for their stay. For two families traveling together rent this apartment and our ID #16 which is on the same floor right next door. This provides accommodations for up to 11 persons.
The apartment is very comfortable and well furnished, with traditional wooden floors and quality area rugs, two large stone fireplaces with gold framed mirrors from the late 1700's, and traditional ceiling beams.
The layout is quite functional, as the entry looks into the kitchen/dining area and also into the living area. The bedrooms are independent of one another with independent access to the large bathroom. (Click here to see floor plan of the apartment: FLOOR PLAN).
The Les Halles Two Bedroom living area is spacious with three large double glazed French windows looking out onto the street, one of which opens onto a small balcony with two chairs. The living space includes a sleeper sofa which can sleep 2 persons, armchairs, coffee table, fireplace, TV with basic cable such as CNN and BBC and traditional wooden floors.
The kitchen was renovated in 2002 and is a very complete, designer style kitchen with plenty of counter space and storage areas. The kitchen includes a double sink, an oven, large refrigerator, four electric burners, microwave, toaster, washing machine, a smaller table and all of the basic kitchen necessities that you will need. The kitchen has a wooden bar area that opens onto the formal dining area, with fireplace, wooden beamed ceiling, wood floors and area rug as well as large dining table and chairs. The dining room has two large windows that look out to the street.
The main bedroom is at the end of a small hallway and the bathroom also is off the hallway. The bathroom is large by Paris standards with both a bathtub as well as a shower unit, and two sinks as well as the toilet.
The main bedroom looks out into the inner courtyard area and is reasonably large, with a queen size bed, a large armoire for storing clothes, book shelves and bed side tables as well as a small desk with a computer for your use, with high speed cable Internet access.
The second bedroom is more of a guest bedroom, and is smaller, with two single beds, a small armoire and a luggage rack. The second bedroom, while fine for sleeping two persons, is not large and does not have any windows. There is also a walk in closet in the entryway of the apartment where some clothing can be stored.
All beds, including the sofa bed, are of good quality. There is an additional single good quality fold out bed located in the apartment for a 7th person or in place of using the sofa bed. The beds will be made up according to your request.
