This beautiful Parisian holiday rental apartment is on the 4th European floor (5th US) with an elevator that stops in between each floor so you have only a few steps each time in or out. The rental is 34 m2 in size (@370 ft2) and has a queen size bed plus a double size sofa bed in the living room for up to 4 adults. The owners have lovingly renovated everything from new floors, to appliances, to all furnishings. Rich decorator colors, together with a modern style, provide a very comfortable and quiet place to return to at the end of each day. This area is very much worth exploring, with the large green expanse in front of your place that runs along a long avenue, good for picnics or just people watching! You also have the rue Cler area with its permanent open market only 10 minutes away, plus the Rodin Museum just a 5 minute walk. Also, Parc Champs de Mars with the Eiffel Tower is just about a 10 minute walk from here.
Even though there are so many interesting things close by to the apartment, exploring the rest of Paris is as easy as stepping out of the apartment and catching #92 bus that goes directly to Ecole Militaire, Champs de Mars, or Avenue des Champs Élysées which is just 10 minutes by bus. The #82 bus going directly to Luxembourg Gardens in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés area in one direction and to the Eiffel Tower in the other. Because of the importance of this location, the Paris Open Tour bus - a tour bus that covers the important sites of Paris with it's open upper decks - stops just steps from the apartment.
The apartment house book will fill you in on the ‘little known’ avenue de Saxe Farmers Market, which is set up twice per week and is just a few minutes away. It will guide you to great bakeries and restaurants. In fact, there is one in your building itself - around the back with no noise - which has a lovely outside terrace with a direct view on the golden dome. More than just a burial place, the Invalides has many attractions to visit; it was built by the 'Sun King' Louis 14th who also built most of Versailles. The original purpose of Invalides was to pay homage to the wounded in the French War and today in fact, it still functions in part as a hospital to care for many elderly and handicapped veterans. It has beautiful gardens, a war themed church, plus an incredible museum for most wars France has fought in, set up in chronological order.
This fine apartment features all new furnishings, with very comfortable beds. The bathroom is located off the bedroom and has a large shower with a sink and the WC. The kitchen features an oven & stove, microwave, full size refrigerator/freezer (220 liter total size - about 8ft) and a couple of barstools to use at a small countertop. There is also a dining table for up to 4 people. A combo washer/dryer unit in the bathroom is also available for your convenience. The sofa is the pullout type, yet quite comfortable and is double size for 2 adults. Little extras like an alarm clock with iPod dock and a complimentary bottle of wine…are all provided.
Whether you visit Napoleon’s final resting place or not, you will certainly think that both this great area and this great cozy apartment is fit for a King.....or Emperor…!
