This lovely apartment is located on the edge of the Latin Quarter, just minutes away by foot from rue Mouffetard, the Jardin de Luxembourg, the Jardin des Plantes, and the Pantheon. The RER B stops at nearby Port Royale and at Luxembourg, taking you directly to the airport. This is an authentic Parisian neighborhood, not too touristy, yet central with easy access to the sites--and transportation which will bring you anywhere in the city.
Newly renovated in the spring of 2019, the apartment is fresh with a touch of elegance and has been redone using the highest quality furnishings. With white marble counters which harmonize with the marble fireplace, gorgeous herringbone floors and freshly painted white walls, as well as the view out the bedroom window over the courtyard, there’s a delightful blend of new and old, while remaining luminous and comfortable.
From the outer stairway, walk into the vestibule then immediately left into the first room, which is a large space with the kitchen on the right and the living room on the left. The kitchen has been totally modernized with marble counters, the latest induction flex-zone stove top, an oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and you name it, it’s here, including a mid-century modern table for four. There’s a partial wall between the kitchen and living room which gives a bit of privacy and coziness to the living room. This is where the sofa bed is which converts to two twins or a double. There’s also a TV. To close off all light and noise, the windows are all double glazed and have additional inner and outer shutters.
Back through the vestibule is the lovely bedroom, with a king size bed which can also be separated into two beds. The room looks out over a charming courtyard, where if you’re lucky, you can see wisteria in full bloom right outside the window. In the courtyard you’ll also see a small building, which used to house female students and is reminiscent of the schoolgirl Madeleine’s home.
In addition to the king size bed, there's a terrific modern closet which lights up when you open it and has all sorts of drawers and shelves for organizing clothes.
The bathroom, connected to the bedroom, is luminous and overlooks the courtyard as well. It’s stylish with a Philippe Starck toilet, a large walk-in shower, and a lovely grey marble sink with a swiveling mirror between it and the WC area. The window is frosted glass and tilts open over the courtyard. This is also where you’ll find the washer/dryer combo.
The owner has thought of everything. There are even built-in USB chargers in every room!
