Comments:The apartment furnishings were adequate but very basic. The apartment was smaller than we thought based on the pictures online. The living/dining area was very small and crowded, as well as one of the bedrooms. The building was generally very quiet inside except for one night when there was a soccer game viewing party next door. There was a great deal of construction going on outside near the building that was very noisy during the day, although we were not there often. We hoped the apartment would have a shopping cart but it did not, so we bought one and left it there. We loved the location and access to the Metro nearby. The main bathroom and shower were very nice. The apartment had not been cleaned when we arrived. We had to call the manager, and 2 young men finally came to clean up while we waited at around 3 pm. This was a problem because we were very tired from our travels.

Comments:The apartment was excellent. The beds were comfortable and it was nice and quiet. The kitchen did present a challenge in that a button was supposed to be held for 3 seconds that took us 24 hours to find. It was on the glass stovetop and we couldn't see it at all. A clearer explanation in the house book would be helpful to those of us that don't have that kind of stove. We also had some problems with no hot water. We followed the directions in the house book and after about 8 tries, the heater finally went on and stayed on. Julien came to check on it and replace a lightbulb 2 days later. After all that, we felt very at home and were happy to get back to our temporary home in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay even though things didn't go perfectly. On the directions about how to get into the apartment, it might be helpful to say that the building is the 2 doors down after you go through the first (big) door. we stumbled around a bit to find it.

Comments:The binder with information was very helpful for using the appliances. They should add information about the child lock on the oven. We had never used an oven with an automatic lock like that before and by the time we googled and figure out how to open the oven, our pizza was burnt and we set off the smoke alarms. It was ultimately not a big deal, but I think the information and how to unlock it would be helpful in the binder.

Comments:Wifi needs improvement; was worse than expected even though the apt documentation did indicate limitations of the wifi.. Hard to beat the Marais as a location to get around Paris. Hopefully the documentation the new washer-dryer combo unit has been updated since the existing instructions described a previous unit. The kitchen, although small as expected, was well equipped to handle the needs of 4 of us... Global transfer was at CDG as expected to pick us up - very good service...

Comments:Overall we enjoyed this property and had a very comfortable stay. Any shortcomings were minor and these are suggestions for improvement rather than complaints. There was no where to place soap in the shower apart from on the floor of the shower itself. The towel rail in the bathroom was not really useable particularly for three adults. One of the drinking glasses had a small chip in it and needs to be replaced. The instruction booklet needs to be updated and more detailed. Some of these items are about attention to detail. It was great to have wi fi but the restrictions on the number of devices and where they could be used and the speed of the connection was frustrating. The washing machine wasn't working which I believe is not an uncommon occuracne in this apartment. Thanks for prompt return of the key deposit.

Comments:This apartment is an absolutely wonderful place to spend time in Paris. Surprisingly quiet, and very charming. We never found the cell phone that was described in the apartment description but we did not really need it. Hope to stay here again! Two possible maintenance issues: the shower does not drain while taking a shower, and it takes 10-15 minutes to drain afterward. The hot-water heater sometimes makes a very loud noise (not the normal noise when it is heating up); it seems to happen when there has been a gap in time between using hot water and it could be related to air in the water pipes. Otherwise the apartment was in really excellent shape.

Comments:The apartment was perfect for our needs. We were never able to get the TV to work but we don't watch a lot of TV anyway so it was not an issue. We really appreciated the "Paris Walking" cards and the books. The wooden floors are very squeaky. The occupants above us had a dog who would thump it's tail on the floor. It would run across the floor and then sit down and wag its tail. One of the occupants on the first floor was very helpful. We forgot that in Europe the 2nd floor refers to two floors above the main floor. In Canada, the main floor is the same as the 1st floor so the 2nd floor would be only one floor above the main. We tried the keys in the first floor doors before we figured it out. Perhaps you could clarify that in your access instructions. I have already given your contact information to two other parties looking for Paris accommodations.

Comments:Wonderful apartment in a great area with a nice clean appearance. Our only concern was the extremely loud hard wood floors, the temperamental hot water heater, hard to use laundry machines and the intermittent wifi access. Overall, it did not diminish our stay but may be things to address for future renters.

The information that was provided in advance helped to ease our arrival and the wine was a wonderful welcome! I would return to this apartment in a NY minute! You may want to update the in-apartment documentation to reflect the updated information (writtten in pencil).

Comments:We had a great stay in the apartment. Perfect location. So much going on right outside our door, but once you closed the door and walked into the court yard, not a sound! The floors are very squeaky, but it is an old building. The beds were comfy. It looks bigger in the pictures, but perfect for the 4 of us. Loved the area. Great shopping, restaurants and people watching. Close to metro, though we hardly took it. We walked everywhere. Fantastic bakery right outside the door. Great bars too!! So much fun. VIP was a great service to work with and I highly recommend them and this apartment. I will use them for any upcoming trips to Paris. Maybe supply the clients with a better explanation of where the apartment is located in the courtyard. I would tell them, the door is next to the mailboxes inside the courtyard.

Comments:The location of this beautiful apartment could not be better. It is so central that I can't imagine a better spot. It is beautifully furnished and exceptionally quiet. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only issue that we had was the limited supply of Nespresso capsules. With only two capsules and no known source of more, the Nespresso machine was not very useful. We also had difficulties with the washing machine so didn't use it. Other than that, great place.

Comments:All very good. I loved the apartment and very good area, although I probably would have preferred to know was in the gay area before we went, as the first morning we took our four children to the bakery downstairs only to find very single cake and pastry was in the very distinct shape of a penis complete was detailed testicles. We did laugh this off and keep walking, but I probably would have been a little bit more prepared if I had know before. Overall this would never stop me using or recommending the apartment, and it think it is healthy for the children too, I just would have liked some preparation.

Comments:Only one night there was a lot of noise inside. The neighbors next door had a very large party on Saturday night. The party ended about 2:30 a.m. Other than that, no other issues. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this apartment to friends and family. There were only two negatives: 1) we used all the beds and it would have been good to have 3 fans instead of just 2. It was extremely hot the weekend we were in Paris and since we had someone sleeping on the pullout couch, it was quite warm in that room. Also, the floors were extremely noisy so it was hard not to disturb the group if we got up earlier than everyone else. The maps and instruction booklet was extremely helpful too. Thanks for a great first trip to Paris!!

Comments:Party Saturday night till real late, not fault of apartment. On second floor, benefit easy access, detriment hearing people go up and down. One big issue for us though was that only 1 person could be on internet router at one time. With all devices you use to travel this was a pretty significant negative. Comments:The entire time in Paris there was sanding of the floor in the apt. above us, very loud at times. Sounded like they were renovating the entire apt. The instructions to get to the apt. were not clear and very hard to find correct building as the first doo We enjoyed Paris very much and I would use the apt. again but in all honesty I would choose a building with an elevator. The spiral stairs were a killer!

Great little apartment....would be very cramped with more than two people! Internet was AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!!! One at a time and at best could only stay on for a few minutes. Shower clogged quickly after our arrival...we found drain cleaner under the kitchen sink and took care of the problem. Kitchen not terribly well stocked.

Comments:The apartment itself was fine, i.e., on the inside. The noise coming from outside, however, was considerable. Courtyard building. Construction going on in a retail location within the courtyard. Construction noises echoing up along the walls of the buildings enclosing the courtyard from early morning, continuing throughout the day. Additionally, and more significantly, voices echoing up - loudly enough to awaken us from sleep - at all hours, including 1:00 AM most nights and 3:00 AM on two nights. Occasional loud banging in the middle of the night, as well. Sounded like the lid of a dumpster being slammed repeatedly. Unclear whether the voices were coming from outside the building or from inside the building. In either case, they echoed up to our floor off the walls of our building and the others - or perhaps it's all one building, i.e., wrapping around - enclosing the courtyard.

Comments:The appartment was perfect for our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The issues we did have were: 1. We walked from the Gare du Nord as we have some knowledge of the city - plus the taxi was ridiculously priced. We found the directions very vague and the map was unclear. 2. We had a hard time finding sheets for the sofa bed. 3. There was some severe hammering going on in the appartment upstairs all day long. 4. The dryer on the washing machine did not work 5.the hot water was erratic. There were instructions as to how to get it working again which worked some of the time. We really appreciated the cleanliness of the appartment, the bottle of wine and the kitchen full of utensils. The cork screw was broken so we replaced it :) Thank you for a great time and we appreciate the service we received.

Comments:We loved the apt, only had 2 negative issues. The water heater shut off several times & made some very loud noises. The 2nd issue was that one of the nights during our stay, the electricity was out on the ground floor, so the electronic keypad would not function & we were unable to enter the building. We had to wait for a neighbor to unlock the door from the inside. Just as noted above about the water heater & the non-functioning keypad during an electrical outage. The stairs were also quite worn & slippery. There was no broom/dustpan to use for spills. The neighbors were very nice & respectful & everything else was just as described.

Comments:Loved the apartment and the location was perfect. So comfortable for our family for almost two weeks. Very minor but it would have been nice to have a cutting board and sharper knives. We totally made due. The only other thing I can think of as an improvement would be more info on the appliances....heat, oven and dishwasher....we did figure them out, but wish there had been instructions. Appreciated so many of the details that were provided. Great beds, lovely shower , sink and heated towel racks!!! The free phone to call the US was a real bonus being there over the holidays. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay in an amazing city. It would have been helpful to have a map of the neighborhood that showed where to find the grocery store....(found out soon enough and it's called a marche). The first morning we walked many many blocks in the wrong direction looking for one then days later found that there was a wonderful street not too far that had pretty much everything we needed. Again this is so minor...part of the fun was the exploring. Wondering about the damage waiver of $49....is that to be refunded? Just thought I would ask. Thank you again for everything and we would for sure stay there next time.

Comments:The apartment was very clean. Due to our losing the crucial piece of paper with the contact information, I had great difficulty making the contact. There must be a better back up or default method to deal with dummys like me. But your agent who I was finally able to contact was very accomodating even though he did not get advance notice from me. He then was able to reach the young man who delivered the key. The young man was extremely nice and helpful, once he arrived. I feel the apartment was too small for the 6 of us. In fact, the manager was surprised when I explained there were 6 of us. Again, my fault, but it is probably to everyone's interest for you, the owner and the renter to emphasize the apartment will be tight for 6 people and emphasize this includes very limited storage space for clothes, suitcases etc. I encourage you and the owner to somehow provide for more storage for clothing. I have to think there are available tastefully designed wall pegs and/or hooks, wall racks and free standing stands on which to hang jackets, etc. The kitchen is well designed and in excellent condition. But it is far too sparsely equipped. It lacked too many items that would be so helpful and essential for preparation and enjoyment of meals and beverages. The Bathroom is excellent and the separation of the WC is a good design idea. The furnishings were adequate, but would have benefitted from a few more folding / collapsable chairs / tables. The notebook explaining the operation of appliances was confusing at times because some appliances had been updated but the instructions for the old appliance were still in the book. To line or cross out the obsolete page, sometimes faintly, is not adequate. Value for money was good - primarily because of the special discount offered at the time of booking.

Comments:We loved having the separate WC. I was there with 2 friends and it made getting ready much easier. I would have been nice to have a storage device in the 2nd bedroom. We didn't have a good spot to leave our suitcase and they were stuffed in the corners. We spent a lot of time in the living room area. It was such a comfortable space. We had the arrival information and the taxi driver dropped us off right across the street, but we couldn't find the apartment at first. The address number of 39 seemed like it should have been further down the street. Also, the outside door was open during the day, so we used the wrong combination on the locked door. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Comments:We had 6 people and ran out toilet paper on day 2.5 and did not find extra rolls. We ended up using paper towels, which I am sure is not preferred for the plumbing. I would suggest extra rolls of toilet paper. Also we had two beds with pillows with no pillow cases. The washer/dryer combination did not have sufficient instructions for the dryer only option. We were not successful in using the dryer cycle only after numerous attempts and the washer/dryer combo did not fully dry the clothes. Also, the arrival instructions told us the second floor which in my jet lagged American brain confused it with the first floor, so we disturbed the neighbors downstairs late at night thinking that was the rental apartment. American floor instructions would have helped in addition to the European floor description. thank you- these were minor issues, it was lovely and a fantastic location for getting around (in spite of the lively gay bar that shocked my mother)

Comments:In general, furnishings lovely. Would appreciate more space to put away clothes and more hangers. Also, there was an i-Pod doc but no apparent way to use it (no speakers, no receiver) -- if it was usable, instructions would be useful. Also, several dvd's that got my kids' hopes up, but no dvd player. Finally, the apartment binder had instructions for a different washer/dryer. It appears a new machine was put in, but the old instructions left in the booklet. We eventually found a brief sheet for the new machine, which was tucked into the back of the binder. Also, we would love to know something about the history of the building (when built, etc.). A little info in the apartment would have been nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The crew stateside was very responsive and helpful.

Comments:We were in the apartment on the gay pride weekend so outside was a little crazy and there was dull noise on the Saturday night. We slept fine but I know people who may have issues. We thought that the apartment was ideally located, close to great shops and cafes and the metro. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. The wi-fi was very handy and we liked the furniture and the decorating. It would have been handy to have the locations of the little market (food and grocery) shops close by as it took me a while to find one.

Comments:It was a lovely apartment in great condition. We have two grown boys each more than 6 feet tall and we were all very comfortble. I would stay there again. Perhaps there could be more glasses. We had a little difficulty with the key at first - perhaps a hint that although it fits in both ways there is a correct "direction". Thank you for your complete and accurate information; it made the trip.

Comments:Overall, the apartment met our needs. The location is excellent -- very convenient to public transportation, museums, restaurants, and shopping. The building itself is in average condition. There was a fair amount of noise in the late evenings (10:00pm to around 1:00am) coming from the courtyard, particularly with glass bottles being thrown away and (I think) the trash bins being moved outside for the next morning's pick up. Our sleep was interrupted nearly every night. Occasionally we also would hear people loudly coming up the building staircase in the middle of the night. The apartment is pleasant and a lot of effort clearly has gone into making best use of the space. The bathroom is stylish and very well done, and we liked having a separate w/c. The kitchen is a little hard to work in since all of the pots, pans and utensils have been stored in a small under-counter cupboard that is hard to access. We like to shop at farmer's markets and cook whenever we travel, so the kitchen's limitations are the primary reason we likely wouldn't use this particular apartment again. But for most travelers -- particularly those in a city as restaurant-rich as Paris -- it probably is fine. The condition of the floor in the apartment (which is understood to be old) was below average. It is very squeaky and the gaps between the planks are so wide you can see dirt and dust. It either needs to be repaired/replaced, or some area rugs need to be added to help muffle the squeaks. I checked "yes" to the question of whether we would recommend the apartment to a friend, but the more accurate answer is "maybe". It would depend on their tolerance for noise and whether they wanted to cook much. Again, for most travelers this is probably a great place. But we are used to a very quiet house with a big chef's kitchen, so, even with our expectations adjusted for a dense urban environment like Paris, we found the apartment to have limitations. Others undoubtedly will have different needs and expectations. Vacation in Paris has been an excellent company to work with. Everyone we dealt with was polite, professional, and responsive. We definitely will use you again and will refer friends to your website. The bottle of wine was a very nice touch -- thank you!

Comments:The appliances were somewhat difficult to use...particularly the washer/dryer appliance. The instructions could have been clearer. We finally figured out how to cope with this appliance a few days before we left. There were a couple floor boards that we worried about falling through and ended up moving the sofa in the living area to cover the worst one. Although we loved the neighborhood, we realized that there may be some renters, particularly with children and teens, who might not appreciate being in a gay area of Paris with lots of partying and therefore crowds of gay men. Perhaps this could be explained in the description of the apartment.

Comments:We had a little trouble finding the apartment once we got on the street. Part of the problem was the front street door was opened and therefore we didn't need the door code so we were confused about which code to use. Also, the apartment is in the second building -- that was not on the directions and I think it should be. Otherwise we loved everything.

Comments:The apartment and surrounding neighborhood was wonderful. The apartment was clean, tastefully decorated, with all the comforts and necessities. Great location and the bakery downstairs was heaven. Great selection of reasonably priced restaurants and boutiques. Vacation in Paris were tremendous, when our trip was postponed due to volcanic activity. they went above and beyond to ensure our trip went ahead.

Comments:We definitely enjoyed our trip to Paris and would highly recommend this apartment to others. The location was fantastic and definitely made the experience even better. We greatly appreciated being able to leave our stuff at the apartment until later in the day so we could explore more. The sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it satisfied the need for a third bed. We liked being able to have the three different areas for sleeping.

Comments:Problems working the cooktop, and didn't know hood fan pulled out (instructions would have been helpful). Extra kitchen towels would have been nice. Very noisy neighbors after midnight. Lots of construction and business noise outside. Garbage cans unpleasant upon entering courtyard. Outside lock changed on us without notice. Property manager did not know of the change. Coffeemaker worked poorly. Bathroom fan not working. A change of linens would have been nice (we were there 9 nights). Advise renters to have only small light suitcases as there is no elevator.

Comments:There was quite a bit of noise at the apartment as the building was having some renovations done. We could find no information on how to work the stove top and could not figure out how to make it work. We have rented apartments all over the world and VIP was by far the best and easiest to deal with.

Comments:I'd like to give the VIP staff an A++. All transactions were perfect! We loved getting the key ahead of time and not having to meet someone at a particular time! As far as the apartment, I guess I should have asked if there was air conditioning. Two of the nights we were there it was blisteringly hot (and I live in Texas!) We survived on the fans in the bedrooms, but really needed a serious fan for the living room. Luckily a cold front came through and the rest of the time the temperature was great. Towels - there were 4 bath towels for the 4 of us, but only 2 "wash rags" (smallest size). We could have used 2 more so each of us had our own. We also needed directions on using the oven! We only used it once, but it took forever to figure it out. Also needed written suggestions on how to use the clothes washer/dry. THANK YOU for putting the taxi phone number in the apartment handbook. We used them twice and they were punctual both times.

Comments:Great apartment. Excellent location. My ratings of "average" are not negative - just that I expected things to be good and they were. It would be useful to have better instructions for the dryer. I lived in France for a few years and a washer/dryer, and still couldn't figure out how to make it stop. After 4 hours (having set it for 1.5 hours), I found an online manual for a similar model that explained that what appeared to be an error message was not that, and that I could just shut the machine off. We had a crib in the apartment but I was surprised to find it in the living room on arrival. When we tried to move it into the master bedroom, we discovered that it didn't fit through the door. I'm sure that we could have collapsed it and reassembled it but I couldn't be bothered. (I know I could also have called the manager and didn't). It also didn't fit in the second bedroom, so we didn't use other than during the day, since we didn't want the baby sleeping at night in the main room. I suspect that the manager leaves the crib in the living room as he is unsure where people would want it, given the size of the bedrooms. However it would be useful to let people know in advance that if they rent a crib, it may not fit in the bedroom, and/or ask them if what room they'd like it in , so that the manager could set it up and move furniture if necessary.

Comments:After a subpar rental experience in London we were pleased to find this charming apartment in the Marais. The decor was fashionable and attractive. The beds were comfortable and our family of 5 was able to sleep well, using the sleeper sofa in the living room. There were plenty of interesting shops nearby, as well as many boulangeries in which to buy morning croissants. The location was convenient to Notre Dame as well as the Metro. We were a bit taken aback on Saturday night by the overflowing crowds at the nightclubs, the apartment is right in the center of the gay district. All in all the apartment contributed to a wonderful 5 days in Paris. We would certainly recommend this apartment to others and would return ourselves.
