Comments:The directions to get into the apartment were confusing, but once we figured it out it was fine. I wouldn't recommend the property to anyone who can't climb 102 stairs.....which you have to climb when you arrive in order to get the key for the elevator. We used the stairs 95% of the time by choice, but it wasn't easy. I loved the apartment, but prefer to be closer to the river. If there weren't anything available in my price range I would rent it again.

Comments:We loved the apt. and the location!!!We will definitely be back.
I would like to recommend that you replace the pillows which are really very lumpy and uncomfortable.
We would also like to suggest that if the apartment is vacant for a while before a guest arrives that the property manager makes sure that everything is in working order. As you know the toilet was not flushing properly. This went on for 4days.
Fortunately although this was very unpleasant we still have to say that it was great in spite of the problem.

Comments:The neighborhood is unbelievable, and we loved the building. The only note I have is that you really can't stay there with a baby, if you're using a stroller. While there is an elevator, it's so tiny that only one person and one carry-on suitcase can fit. Our stroller didn't fit. Definitely not a place for heavy packers or people with lots of gear.

Comments:We prefer to be closer to the Rue Jacob when in Saint Germain des Pres. The neighborhood was quiet, but too sterile/urban for my taste. I would have liked more and closer patisseries and cafes. We had a great time. (I am not sure what the "property ID" is...)

Comments:We really enjoyed the apartment, especially the location, the view from the balcony and all the books. We used the Rick Steves Paris guide. The only negatives were the broken toilet (but the property manager said that was being fixed), the lack of laundry soap, the stools are a bit wobbly, there was no hand towel for the bathroom so we had to use a tea towel, and it was a bit dusty. But we loved the apartment anyway and would consider renting it again.
Yes, it was frustrating when using your website that you don't know which apartments are available. I had to write and then get a list. When looking at other sites like airbnb and ownersdirect, you usually can tell what is available. You might consider that for your site.

Comments:I note the bathroom as "acceptable" only because the toilet flush mechanism was in a bit of disrepair. It was still useable, but the cover was not attached to the wall and the valve tended to get stuck open at times, which required a bit of jiggery with the flush tabs to rectify. Other than that everything was wonderful! Gorgeous apartment, beautiful location! Thank you again, as always!

Comments:Terrific comfortable apartment, and the elevator was JUST big enough to get me an a suitcase up and down! Loved the view of Paris rooftops and the courtyard. The location was so convenient with the Saint-Sulpice Metro just 1/2 block away, 7 bus routes plus 4 night bus routes within one block, and shopping & foodstuffs & cafes galore. I loved the full kitchen (including an oven, something hard to find in rental apartments). Property manager Karim was very helpful when I had a small problem with the toilet. I would love to stay here again, and will definitely recommend it to my friends!
Recommend that you add info to the apartment listing letting people know they would have to climb the stairs upon arrival to get the elevator fob or else arrange for a meet-up with Karim.

Comments:We loved the location. Also the apartment was clean and well stocked. However there were a few issues. Our daughter was with us as planned , but the sofa was not made up. We called about this (see below). The second day the toilet began to run after each flush. Since we were leaving soon, we did not call, but left a note. (My husband was able to temporarily fix it.) It seems to be an ongoing problem since the cover for the toilet was duct taped to the wall. Also there were no hand towels for the bathroom (we used a kitchen towel). Finally, the owner has hundreds (thousands?) of DVDs, CDs, Books lining every wall and storage area. There was very little space to put our things. (Since our stay was short we just lived out of our suitcases, but no where to put them either.) We really appreciated the fan---it was 91 degrees when we arrived (however it cooled off overnight.)

Comments:Bathroom was very clean and convenient. However, sometimes the toilet kept running, needed to be reflushed to shut off. We did not call Karim but left a note to that effect when we departed. We enjoyed the apartment very much but have a few suggestions for the owner to make it more user friendly: 1) a comfortable chair in the sitting area would have been nice--those odd plastic stools were useless; 2) there was no place that had adequate light for reading--a reading light on both sides of the bed would be a big help; 3) the bed was comfortable but very low, difficult to get up and out in the morning! However, the apartment was blissfully quiet and overall we were very satisfied.
We were very happy with the aptmt. Dealing with VIP was a pleasure and we will use your agency for any future rentals. The only other suggestion would be to have a second elevator fob available to renters. While it's true that a person in the aptmt could "buzz in" someone down in the courtyard, there did not seem to be a way for that person to get up to the 5e etage other than climbing up the stairs--all 102 0f them. While we did this the first day upon arrival, that once was enough!

Comments:A few comments -
A better section of bath towels, to include hand towels and wash cloths.
There is a nail sticking out of the floor in front of the kitchen sink that could be dangerous.
The toilet needs to be adjusted, sometimes the it needs to be flushed twice in order to make the water stop flowing.
BETTER Pillows!
Other than my comments above the apartment was fabulous and we would use it again!
PS. You really need better pillows!

Comments:We chose this apartment because of its wonderful location!! It truly is exactly where we wanted to be. The balcony is wonderful and the apartment is truly quiet! We walked all over, shopped the local markets, had lovely dinners in and out. We had a 6 day museum pass and went to new ones and old favorites. We went running in Luxembourg Garden most mornings, right after a coffee from our own Nespresso machine! My dream of living like a Parisian was fulfilled! We had never stayed in anything but hotels in Europe, but we were very pleased with this apartment and the VIP team. We would certainly recommend both! Our one complaint would be only 3 English speaking channels and they were all news. My husband really wished for NFL playoff coverage.;)
Perhaps some English directions for the washer/dryer machine. I did some google searches and determined how to wash and dry in one operation. I think the expectation of bone dry clothes out of the dryer causes some confusion for users. It worked well to start a load in the morning, put anything not dry on the heated towel rack. The total cycle time is 4 hours and the machine is in the bedroom, do not want to start a load in the evening!

Comments:Neighbor across the courtyard is doing some work on his apartment. They were using power tools on their balcony in the evenings until it was dark, which is around 9:00pm. This was not every night, but about 2-3 nights during our stay. The whole check in process, where the apartment key was sent to us before leaving the US, was perfect. This is the main reason we chose VIP. We were very concerned about meeting someone in Paris to get a key, and the consequences of that going wrong. The apartment was really nice and very well equipped. There were a few glitches, but overall, our experience was good. The apartment was exactly as described on your website. The apartment was small, but the space was used very efficiently. It was clean, the bathroom was great, the bed was comfortable, and we had plenty of space to hang our clothes. The security in this building is also very tight, which was good.

Comments:My sister and I stayed one week in this apartment. It could not have been a better location for us. We walked to most sites and did make use of the metro system which was less than a block away. The apartment was very quiet at night with no outside noises. We seldom heard anyone within the apartment building. It was very nice having an apartment to feel at home and relax after walking quite far distances during the day. Convenient to shopping, great restaurants, metro, and touristy sites. We had a great time in this apartment and would not hesitate to rent this apartment again. The apartment is just the right size for a couple or couple with a child. My sister slept in the bed and I chose the sofa bed. It was perfect for us.

Perfect location for everybody who wants to be in Central Paris - we could walk to many of the places we wanted to visit - but still like a quiet apartment for a good night sleep. To get to the real live of St. Germain one would need to walk a few blocks though, but that was not a problem. We loved it! Perfect for us and our 11 year old. Thanks a lot!

The men working were very, very nice and clearly just doing their job but it was frustrating to not have known that the work would begin very early in the morning, especially on our first day when we had hoped to sleep in. The one nonstick frying pain is very scratched and could stand to be replaced. Otherwise the kitchen was well stocked and we really enjoyed our stay.

Comments:When I arrived, I found the apartment to be "spartan' and lacking in any color. I went to Habitat and a couple of other stores to buy sofa pillows, a rug, and a reading lamp (all of which I left) - it immediately perked the whole place up. Richard should consider a headboard for the bedroom bed - being up against the cement wall resulted in more than one time banging my head! Also, the refrigerator door does not close properly (it hangs up on the edge of the counter)... An additional remote control for the elevator would be nice since there are times when two people want to go in different directions and one gets to climb 6 flights of stairs! I loved the location...and the amount of light coming in from all the windows was great...I can totally imagine in the warmer months how lovely the balcony would be...the rooftops were a wonderful view and the fact that it was so quiet was fantastic - I have stayed in a lot of Parisian apartments that were so noisy!

Comments:I have lived in Paris and this was our 4th apartment rental for vacation purposes. The apartment has clearly been well-used and well-loved since the photos were taken. Lack of shelf space to even put an alarm clock by the bed was odd, and some of the book shelves were clearly overloaded, worn, and look ready to break. No "Nespresso" left even though the book talked a lot about it (although we had a great time going to the store!). Stale cereal left in kitchen. Bathroom shower mildew-y and floor needed vacuuming. Bed also not Queen as described, but European Full. Still comfy; pillows not. However, the location was great, the Internet worked, the in apartment info helpful, the apartment very quiet and cozy, the balcony an extra plus, and I loved having our keys ahead of time. Would definitely rent from VIP again.

Comments:Excellent location and well kept apartment, nice shower/bathroom and kitchen appliances, we made simple breakfasts and snacks although we didn't cook full meals. Following the instruction for washer/drier combo, laundry came out well. Neighbors were all very nice and quiet, some came out for Sun bath during sunny days, made us felt as if we belong there.
We stayed at the apartment during the construction work for installing an elevator. The noise level was very low during construction and the workers were polite. Unavoidable was the construction dust. The workers tried to clean up after themselves at the end of each work day, however, there were still construction dust on the floor and walls and the plastic drapery they placed over the entrance doors of each apartment. Please advise future residents to watch out for their outer coats or dresses - once the white dust got on clothing it'd take some effort to brush it off. We also placed a made-shift mat inside the entrance door to catch the dust from our shoes so I wouldn't be spreading white dust all over the wood floor. Overall a very pleasant and memorable stay!

Four of us (two adults and two children) stayed in the apartment. While this worked for us, it was a bit tight and I would recommend the apartment to families that have young or young-ish children (ours are 9 and 11), rather than those with older and larger teenagers. The description on the website said that there was some English language television stations. Comments:The stairs were a problem for us because they were very narrow and winding. We knew there was no elevator but weren't ready for those stairs. I think there are other apartments of the same genre that would work better for us. That said, we enjoyed our stay and limited our comings and goings to using the stairs just 4 times/ day. The bathroom had a very musty odor so we opened the windows and bought air freshener. It was a good size and the shower was excellent. There were no instructions for the phone, so had someone called when we were out, there was no way to retrieve the message. Instructions for wifi were very good. The stools for sitting at the table were very low and not very sturdy. We used the stools as mini tables and sat on the couch. Not being familiar with the washer/dryer, we used it only once and probably not correctly as our clothes did not dry. We have rented twice before in Paris and both times enjoyed the apartments more even with stairs. The response by VIP to our questions and concerns was above par - excellent. We would rent again but choose a different apartment. Had we been 30 years younger, we would have loved the apartment. It is reminiscent of an artist's loft.

Comments:This is a lovely apartment in a great location in saint Germain, with plenty of shops and cafes nearby, and a metro station just minutes from the door. There is a Franprix and a Monoprix nearby, which sell food, toiletries, etc.
The apartment is well equipped, with everything you need - bottle opener, cutlery, plates, glasses, loo paper, bedding, etc. (and wine!) The balcony runs the length of the apartment, which is lovely to have. There is a small table on the balcony, but I was disappointed that there were no chairs out there. There are small stools inside the apartment which could be taken outside, but these don't have backs so they get quite uncomfortable to sit on after a while. My idea of long evenings sat on the balcony with a bottle of wine were sadly unfulfilled.
Although a terrific apartment in a great location, I wouldn't stay there again. I was aware there was no lift and that the apartment was on the fifth floor when I booked it. My husband and I, being fairly fit and in our thirties, didn't think this would be a problem. But after a day's sightseeing - trekking for five hours or so around Paris, climbing the various stairs at the Arc de Triomphe and the metro stations; or after a bottle of wine with our evening meal - climbing back up the apartment stairs just about finished us both off!
Also, be warned, the pillows are the sort where, when you put your head on them, they immediately flatten right out so your head is mattress-level. A small niggle, but the cause of some uncomfortable nights. On our very last day, we discovered the mattress lifts up and a space under there with spare bedding. Too late for us, but someone else might benefit from this tip.
I highly recommend Vacation in Paris, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I was very apprehensive booking with a company in a different country to me, with nothing but a few internet reviews, but their communication was terrific. I got emails at every stage, payment was secure through PayPal, and the keys were shipped well in advance, with very clear and easy instructions and a map to the apartment. Terrific!

The check-out is a bit too early - relevant also if you keep to advice re not using dishwasher etc in the evenings or weekends as if you are out sightseeing all day you have very little time to clean up! Everything worked really well, kitchen well-equipped and the rooftop views are lovely. Great range of books and DVDs (books mostly in French but some in English and interesting for Medievalists!) The plastic stools were a bit unstable - one needs to be weighted.

Comments:I clicked "yes" for using apartment again and recommending it to a friend, but if you had a "maybe" option, I would have chosen "maybe." Location is fantastic and apartment is nice, but the apartment's layout/amenities are not quite as comfortable as apt ID 197 on the rue du Bac, where we've stayed several times before. (Kitchen not as well equipped, no ironing board that we could find, storage space more limited, layout less cozy.) It's a nice apartment but I think Vacation in Paris offers more appealing ones for a similar price point. I always appreciate how easy you are to work with. Comments:The apartment could use some kitchen linens. We ended up purchasing some towels to dry dishes. It would also be great to have 1 extra set of bed linens and/or towels for those who are staying as long as we were. We ended up washing our own but given time restrictions on use of wash/dryer (understandable) and length of time for the wash/dry cycle it was tricky to have dry linens for sleeping!!
The kitchen fittings were terrific but we could have used a bread/chef/utility knife and a few extra pots for cooking. Coffee mugs would also be helpful.
There were renovations occurring on the floor above us. We could hear them throughout the day but were never bothered by it and they stopped in the late afternoon.
It was a wonderful apartment in a fantastic setting!

Comments:Simply a beautifully appointed, designed and modern apartment in one of the most desirable locations in old Paris. Loved our stay.
The only small improvement we could suggest is to replace the small, plastic stools with some proper chairs. The stools are impractical and uncomfortable to use while eating.
Otherwise, the apartment is impeccably appointed with excellent quality finishing and designed to make the best use of the small space. Love the books, CDs, DVDs and availability of an iPod docking station to play our own music. Just a big thank you to VIP. Particularly for their patience as the keys were slow to arrive when shipped from Marseille.

Comments:We came to Paris for our honeymoon. The apartment was absolutely excellent!! great location, great neighbourhood, everything that we needed was there for us to use, clean comfy and very "homey"- we loved it and we wished that we could have stayed longer. It was a bit challenging climbing the stairs, but for us it was part of the adventure, and the lovely owner helped us with the luggage when we arrived;) NO, Thank you for everything , we have had a great honey moon in Paris!!! awesome place!!

Comments:Replace fairly useless plastic "chairs" with simple folding chairs. It is probably not possible to replace the washer/dryer with a unit that works more efficiently, however this would clearly be useful. I was most pleased with the unit in Paris.

Comments:A stress test for anyone over 50 should be required before renting this apartment. The exercise made it possible for me to eat the wonderful French food without fear of gaining weight. I now know that French women do not get fat because they climb stairs and walk every where. The TV was great but there were no English speaking channels that the apartment info indicated . The WiFi worked great. The recommended taxi service "G7" was very good. We called them for transport to the airport and were very pleased with the service.

Comments:We would really recommend a decluttering of all the extra things that this apartment has in it's cupboards! There is crockery etc for like 30 people!
This is really suitable only for 2 people rental as the bathroom is tiny and in the main bedroom.
Otherwise good location and outlook.
The sending of the key back in the mail is a real pain - we were in Carcasonne and had to get a lady at the post office who hardly spoke English to understand what we wanted - we would not use your service again because of this arrangement.

Comments:Overall, we completely enjoyed this apartment. It was well equipped and in a great location. It was charming and the private, large balcony was a big bonus. The only minor issues were: a few ants upon arrival, a bit of dust on the floors, and the original building entry number we were given from VIP was the old one. The number inside the apartment in the documentation was correct, but the one we were sent via email was outdated. We were lucky that we were able to follow someone in, so it didn't impact us too much. We have already recommend Vacation in Paris to friends and will continue to do so. Your website and staff were excellent. Customer service and communication were also excellent. The keys and all documentation arrived in an orderly fashion -- and other than the slight glitch about the entry code -- everything worked exactly as planned. We appreciate your professional attention to details and service. It is rare to get such great customer service these days. Keep it up!

Comments:The code to the lock was incorrect, but we called the manager and he gave us the correct one. Also, it would have helped to know how to get into the second door. There was a card system that we were confused about. All in all, not a big deal, but thought I would point it out. Other than that, the info received was very helpful. We had a great experience.

Comments:I love your service and I'd definitely use it again. I wouldn't use the apartment though. It was very clean and in a great location.Unfortunately the next door neighbors had an all night party on the Saturday that we were there, and were in and out all Friday night. Tuesday-Thursday were very very quiet, however. Also they were really skimpy on the towels. They were small and only 2. There was only a half roll of toilet paper so we had to go buy some. We did think it was a great value for the price. Really the noise was the biggest issue.

Comments:This apartment is in a fabulous location. It is beautifully appointed and has everything you need for a short stay in Paris. The only draw back is the stairs but we enjoed the exercise each day. I would highly recommend this apartment to others. The booking process was well organised. I appreciated the level of service at all stages.

Comments:The apartment was great. This was our third VIP apartment and it was the best so far. Really enjoyed it. The drawback for most people would be that it is five flights of stairs, no elevator, but we did not mind. The biggest issue I had was that there was a gap between the bed and the wall, and since I am 6'1", I had to put my pillow at the edge of the bed and it tended to fall in between the bed and the wall.

Comments:The apartment was excellent overall. We loved it. Perfect size for us (family with 2 small kids). Great location. The only comment I can find is maybe add a few hand towels to the bathroom in addition to the bath towels and washcloths. Let people know how easy the metro is to and from the airport.

Comments:The apartment was fantastic! The only note that I would give to future customers is to clearly let them know that this apartment is located on the fifth floor in a building without an elevator. It was a daily workout! The staff was very patient and friendly. Thank you for helping me book the perfect honeymoon.

Comments:This was a magnificently spacious and beautiful apartment. The building itself is very quiet and the entrance very secure. The stairs were a workout, particularly with luggage, but it should be manageable for anyone who is in reasonably good shape. I would definitely stay here again. My only (minor) complaint is that the kitchen was not equipped with a good knife; anyone planning to do serious cooking should be forewarned.

Comments:The apartment was truly fantastic. Beautiful with plenty of space, ultra-comfortable bed, fab bathroom, radiators and all other appliances were new & worked perfectly, excellent coffee making items, plenty of general housewares, very clean sofa & linens and a beautiful roof-top view. The apartment could use an additional mirror (perhaps on the inside of the closet) and the sofa is placed so that you hit your head on the bookcase everytime you sit down - unless your careful! The apartment is perfectly located near the St. Sulpice metro and the neighborhood couldn't have been more lovely. Shopping, boulangeries, cafes & restaurants, weekend food markets...it's all right outside the door. I miss it as I'm writing about it! The Longchamps manager was also very nice and so friendly. I think I covered everything above, but I will say again how wonderful the apartment was. The lack of elevator may deter some people from renting, but the apartment was so lovely and historic, we'll rent it again and/or use your service again when we return. Thanks very much, Denise Antes-Bennett (Please send our regards & comments to Richard the owner. I applaud him for such a perfect renovation.

Cons: Could use more than one towel each. Plastic stools instead of chairs. Could not connect to Wifi. We have referred many friends to your website.

Comments:The apartment exceeded our expectations. The location is wonderful, St Germain has plenty to offer in the way of restaurants, cafes , shops, and easy access to the Metro. A 10 minute walk takes you to the best food market we found in Parisand only 15 - 20 minute walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame and Seine.
The apartment was fitted out very well, in good condition with everything needed for a self catered stay, the balcony is a real bonus.
I would be recommending this to friends, however, the stairs are certainly a challenge with luggage, but worth the effort.
Well done to your company in answering and responding to my emails and the professional approach to arrival information and keys.

Comments:This was an exceptional apartment, building and neighbourhood to stay in. The contemporary decor & design, and functionality of this apartment were of a high standard. The view looking out from the balcony was a peaceful scene of Parisian roof tops dotted with terracotta chimney stacks, and there was a beautiful courtyard below.

Comments:We enjoyed a very nice stay. The apartment is very effecient, and the large windows served to cool things off at night, but could be shuttered during the day to minimize heat. We were surprised by how quiet the courtyard was. The location was ideal.
Our only wish was for a small electric fan, as well as a hand towel. It would also be nice to have a small bar of soap provided.
We were not able to get the WIFI to work, which was a big disappointment (could not book reservations for sites, nor check in for our flight). We followed the directions (multiple times) and did not want to bother the manager or owner, but would appreciate your informing them of this. Other than that, it was a very nice place.

Comments:Great neighborhood, great building too; neat and clean. Silent at night; wonderful for sleeping. We did not have a computer so we did not try to use wireless internet. Best European shower we have ever used. Heating system was very easy to use and very comfortable. They had a large selection of dvd movies to watch on their system. There were also lots of music CD's (we did not use) and an Ipod with music (we did not use). Nice kitchen and bath fixtures. Large bathroom sink. Only negative: no obvious place to put towels so we had to invent places using coat hangers.
