Comments:Rodin's One Bedroom is an utterly charming "atelier" situated in a wonderful location with easy access to all the great arrondissements. We did fully realize beforehand that it was what North Americans consider a 5th floor walk up, and we certainly managed, however that is the one drawback to the place. Otherwise it's very comfortable, and quiet - probably the quietest place I've stayed in my many visits to Paris. The kitchen is extraordinarily small, but since we really only used it for breakfast and picnic style meals it was quite adequate. The real plus to booking an apartment with Vacation In Paris, is the incredible friendly, helpful and efficient staff at their home office in the U.S., and the ease of making payments. I've rented before from agencies in France but it is such a hassle trying to get money transferred there by wire, or money order. For the absolute no hassle booking I would definitely use this site again. The place was clean enough but there were some Christmas decorations, including pine boughs, still up which had gathered a lot of dust. Also the place was very stuffy when we first entered but easily corrected by opening all the huge windows. I think the home information booklet could be updated - there were a lot of scribbled notes, which were difficult to read.

Comments:The kitchen is tiny, even by Paris apartment standards. If you are planning to do any serious cooking, this is not the apartment for you. The location is absolutely IDEAL! There are fabulous stores on the street - fruit/vegetable, butcher, pastry, bread, wine, and flowers. We loved being able to walk everywhere - even in January. The bed is on the very firm side. It could use some additional padding for old bones like mine.

Comments:We loved the beautiful antiquity of the apartment and building. The wooden steps of the stair case and the beams in the bedroom ceiling are fantastic. We also loved the shops on Rue de Bourgogne. We frequented the local boulangerie and had an evening dinner in the restaurant on the ground floor. The location is terrific for conveniently taking in Paris.
We did not use the washer/dryer because a cycle took too long and directions required that we stay home to monitor the machine while in use, plus directions prohibited use after 5:00 pm. We did not wish to devote a day in Paris to doing laundry so we hand washed our clothes and dried them on the rack in the living room.
You might wish to update directions regarding the apartment building entrance and egress as there is no light switch inside the security door (lights are on a motion sensor) and there's no buzzer button to open the door on the way out - you simply push it open.

Comments:The bathroom lacked privacy. The kitchen has circuit breakers on the right wall, away from other circuit breakers. This would be useful to know.
The neighborhood is fantastic!!! Great bakeries and shops, and two supermarkets close by. Easy walk to three museums, we really enjoyed

Comments:I answered yes about using the property again, because we really liked it, but I think next time we will want to stay in a different part of town. Overall the apartment was a great experience for us, and we were very satisfied. One suggestion for the apartment: the windows tend to close with the wind gusts. We ended up using various strategies, but there must be some "normal" solution for keeping them open. The apartment doesn't have air conditioning, but as long as the windows stay open, we didn't need it.

Comments:We had a wee bit of trouble with the downstairs locking door - we didn't realize you had to yank the thing with all your might to open it. And the upstairs lock on the apartment door was a mystery to me, but my husband had no trouble with it. The location was terrific. The old Parisian furniture was charming, as was the teeny tiny kitchen. The washer/dryer is an amazing contraption, but of course, you realize the dryer is very inefficient, but that adds to the charm. It was lovely, thank you. We would recommend the apartment to everyone.

Comments:Entry through the security door in the lobby was difficult as the lock needs adjustment or repair. The instructions should read pull, not push the door as we ( eventually!) discovered. Great location. We had no tv for the duration of our stay. Otherwise a well maintained and comfortable property.

Comments:The apartment was so lovely and made us feel quite the Parisiennes! Such an excellent location that we were able to come and go each day in different directions without any effort. The directions to the apartment were very clear - we braved the Metro and found it easy to navigate, then got our bearings and voila!, Rue Bourgogne! A new French Press (coffee plunger) would be nice ( we do not use drip coffee makers), otherwise all other needs were supplied. I slept on the couch and the split seat cushions made for a pretty uncomfortable night so after that I put one of the thin futons on first, then the mattress cover, then bed linens and was much better. I wanted to comment that on the Friday there was a lot of drilling/screwing in the apartment above us, beginning about 8:30 a.m. which was rather a nuisance but didn't continue over the weekend, thank goodness.

Comments:Just the fact that the kids really did not enjoy sleeping on the floor. If we stay again, it will just be my husband and i. It really should just be advertised for only two people. You did mention futons for the little ones but i think we were expecting something a bit more cushiony and thicker for them to sleep on the floor. Perhaps we misunderstood? All in all, we really did enjoy the apartment, the location and any dealings with the staff. Many thanks! Lisa and ralf garrn

Prompt EM/Phone communication, everyone was on board (e.g.the computer notes were always current re: of who you spoke to) and during departure crisis - you were right there for me! I highly recommend your services. The apt. was overall I think the apartment manual could be updated and more comprehensive, with less of an overtone of negativity. Comments:Lovely living area and bedroom. Cramped at times and maybe would be better for 3. The futon was not comfortable and didn't have a frame - just layed on the floor. We don't mind at all the hand held shower tub but found the bathroom very small and thus not so easy to keep clean. I imagine is it hard for the cleaning person to really get in and under the toilet etc to clean. Hallway is narrow and not a lot of space for luggage while at the same time keeping the apartment pretty end enjoyable. I think it would be great for a family of three and very enjoyable for a couple. We did not have a lot of luggage and are small people so it worked out. If we were large it would be uncomfortable to manage the bathroom, kitchen and hallway. Loved the neighborhood and in three blocks head a great view of the Eiffel tower night light show. Loved Rue Cler and the proximity to the Grand Palais and Invalides. Very quiet inside and little noise outside. Very easy transaction, loved ability to use Paypal and finish payment prior to arrival. Thanks!

Comments:1) the information provided in the apt could have had more clearly written directions for the washing machine. 2) also the apt book said to unplug all appliances but it was not clear if this included the refrig. (I did not unplug the refrig). 3) there was a request in the book to use a mattress pad if sleeping on the living room couch but none was provided. 4) it would help if the detailed telphone information was provided to clients ahead of time. the infor we got said that local calls were free. the detailed info at apt. said that "08" numbers within France were a charged call, and it would have helped to know this in advance as that is what the airlines use. 5) the overall condition of apt and furnishing were not perfect scores as there was only one drinking glass provided and the towels were wet in the machine and not hung up to dry. so upon arrival, we could not shower till we figured out how to dry the towels and wait for them to dry. 6) the bathroom did not get a 10 because the toilet runs; I felt bad to see water wasted. 7) book should clearly state what can and cannot be recycled at that particular building. 8) the bar saop n teh bathroom was fabulous! I have given these detailed comments b/c you asked for specific feedback. My overall experience at the apt was great and I would definitely recmmend your business. if you have any questions about my comments, please ask. I loved having the key ahead of time. as it turned out, our train was several hours late and this would have meant a missed appt if we had one. It was great to confidently show up, get in and get settled when we were so tired. the directions about how to get in were terrific - very helpful when so tired.
the VIP staff in NJ are awesome!!!!!! You all deserve more than a "10" :)

Comments:We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends - the location is great and the Sac a dot below is a warm spot for lunch or dinner with lovely staff. the mini store and boulangerie just down the road (with melt in your mouth bread) is terrific.
We appreciated the bottle of wine on arrival and that the bed was made up for us so we could crash after a long flight from Australia.
Took us a days to realise that the light switch controlled the power point - not something we are used to - perhaps this could go into the instructions for others.
We liked doing business with VIP rentals and found it hassle free. thanks again!

Comments:Since we are a family of five the description stated this property would sleep 5. Which it did - however the "futons" that were mentioned were NOT futons as we know them (a fold out frame with a mattress) but rather a single mattress pad from IKEA. Sleeping on a hardwood floor on a mattress pad was not what I was expecting for what we paid. Please be more up-front what a futon is. One idea is to invest in a couple air mattresses. That would be much more comfortable.

The 82 steps to the 4th floor would be quite difficult for anyone not in good physical shape. The apartment was decorated very nicely, with lovely artwork and antiques. Just that we had a great stay at the Rodin apartment, and you are a very professional organization. Thanks for everything.

Comments:If I could have changed only one thing in the apartment it would have been to install an adjustable shower attached to wall in the bathroom. Three of four other hotels we stayed in in Paris and the Dordogne had them. I appreciate things being old and different, but the hand-held shower is neither quaint nor charming, only inconvenient and annoying. The morning we left the faucet completely detached from the hose (looked like it had been previously glued). I called Morgan to alert him so he could fix it before the next guests arrived.
A few other minor suggestions: The towel warmer plug is coming out of the wall -- potential hazard. Bathroom sink needs a plug or stopper. I dropped a bandaid down the drain, but managed to fish it out with tongs from the kitchen. As there was a handsoap dispenser in the bathroom, it would be a courtesy if it contained soap on arrival. Kitchen, though tight was quite serviceable. Washing machine potentially confusing to Americans. The printed instructions were helpful; the added handwritten ones should perhaps be typed up as well, or at least printed more neatly. But the machine did a good job and seems to hold more clothes than other French washers I've dealt with. Wi-fi and cable were welcome but did not have CNN, which we missed. About the noise INSIDE the building: it was only one night (our first). Around 3 am it suddenly got very noisy in the apartment just below us. I went downstairs and asked them to please keep it down, which they did.

Comments:Many thanks for a wonderful stay in Paris. The apartment was wonderful and your service excellent. Just to clarify the scores above - and this is niggly and wasn't a problem at all - there was some kind of splatter in the bathroom that was off-putting. The washer/dryer is not kind on clothes. But these are completely minor, minor things. The French Consulate here in New Zealand recommended vacationinparis.com

Comments:The location is excellent and I might recommend this apt. just for that reason. When reading the 'rules and admonitions' against damage and the consequences/fees I feared I might lose my home in the states just to pay my bill!
The kitchen is really not usable for cooking preparation should anyone wish to purchase any of the lovely vegetables etc. available.
One complaint that was difficult for me, a senior citizen, was the shower. I thought from the picture that I could stand and shower, but learned once there I needed to sit in the tub. I did work that out!! My trip was wonderful, thank you!! Enjoyed the convenience of having an apartment in such an excellent location. It helped make museums and transportation very available. I did feel safe and even met a couple of the residents.

I scored lower on the kitchen and bath room only because of size. They were adequately fitted out and fine for our purposes. Keep up the good service - it was well executed and we had all infromation needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable. I will gladly direct my friends to Vacation in Paris.
