Comments:The apt was on a street that was not used by traffic and was very quiet.
The furnishings and bathroom were very good for European standards. Americans are use to a little more room but the extra bathroom was an added bonus. We used Susan Castro for our transportation. That worked out very well. The driver was at the arrival for us and was on time the day we were to depart. You might inform anybody that uses them that has an early flight, that there is an additional 15 euro charge for pickup before 6am. The one thing you might suggest is the Whatsapp. We used that with Susan for info back and forth about the transportation and also with Tania.
Apt 56 did have a broken piece of tile as you entered the bathroom (without the shower). It was just at your left foot as you entered the door frame.

Comments:We really enjoyed this apartment. It's right where we want to be in the 7th arrondissement, was quiet and had a nice cross breeze. Metro and bus stops are close. Eiffel Tower is a short walk away. There's a grocery store across the street plus restaurants and additional shopping a block away on rue Cler.
We would love to stay here again and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Everything was perfect except the mattress in the master bedroom was not terribly comfortable.(it's a bit too firm for us). It's ok though. We didn't lose any sleep! I know it's hard to please everyone when it comes to mattress comfort. Everything was great!

Comments:We've rented with VIP a few times before and this was our first stay at this property. The property is in an awesome location with plenty of great restaurants and shops. Very short walk to the Eiffel Tower and metro. Sofa bed mattress was very comfortable and we actually slept on it rather than actual bed after a couple of nights. Cleanliness of apartment was great, just an older building that needs some love. The value for this location and condition of property was excellent, but we will likely opt for a different apartment with VIP next time around. If you are on a tight budget this is a perfect apartment. Service from VIP excellent as always and we will definitely continue to use the service. P.S. there is a full length mirror in the apartment now since some older reviews noted it was lacking that in the past.

Comments:Phenomenal location, steps away from the Eiffel tower, Rue Cler, multiple restaurants, even a Franprix grocery. Also, since the address is off of the major thoroughfares, it's stunningly quiet. The apartment itself was perfect for the two of us. The logistics of getting in, communicating with VIP, also excellent. We will plan to stay here again. The apartment is great, in good repair, but perhaps a touch "well-worn". I cannot complain because I'm sure that all aspects of the apartment are reflected in the very reasonable price of staying there. However, with just a few touch-ups inside the apartment it could be an absolute stunner and could likely draw more per night. Still though, all appliances worked, the fixtures were operable, the apartment is very quiet, and with the location, I'm ambivalent about even mentioning the "well-worn" aspects of the unit. It really was a great place for us to stay.

Comments:This one bedroom has a new sofa sleeper that was very comfortable and so the apartment nicely serves 4 people. It has 2 toilets and one shower. The kitchen is small and really only seats 3 people. It has plenty of windows allowing for great cross breezes and fans to facilitate coolness. Located on an alley makes for a quiet place. The neighborhood is wonderful with many restaurants and banks and post office and grocery store. The Eiffel tower is just a short walk making night time viewing easy. There is a BIB gourmand (Michelin) restaurant '20 Eiffel' just a few blocks away. Our welcome team from VIP was very accommodating and they were looking to fix the lock on one of the doors.

Comments:This is a great place to stay for a typical, non-luxurious, small Parisian apartment experience. Its location is ideal because there is a boulangerie and Franprix (for groceries and other odds and ends) just steps away, and the Rue Cler pedestrian market is within a couple blocks. In addition, cafes, restaurants, and metro station Ecole Militaire (line 8) are all within a very short walking distance. Because the apartment is on a passage instead of a regular-width street, there is no noise from cars driving past, so it's quiet at night for sleeping. Only one floor up to transport luggage is also a plus. The towels are getting a bit worn, and there was no dishcloth provided in the kitchen. Renters need to bring their own washcloths (common practice in France). The Wi-Fi was simple to connect to and worked great. I would definitely stay here again.
When I spoke with someone in your office today (5/23) to report that I've mailed back the apartment keys, I also mentioned that the phone number given for the apartment (01 45 50 36 81) did not work for a French friend of mine trying to call me from his cell phone, whose number begins with 06. Luckily I had called him the previous day (no problem for me to dial a number beginning with 06 from the apartment), so he had a record of that number and was then able to use that (09 64 13 74 67) to reach me. Your staff person said that your office could email the owner of the apartment to clarify this phone number business, and I think that's a good idea so that a future renter doesn't run into the same problem.

Comments:This apartment is compact but functional. It's in a great location, just off the Rue Cler, very near a Metro stop and an easy walk (5-10 minutes) to the Eiffel Tower. There are plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood. The apartment is on a small side street, so the outside noise level, which can be a problem in Paris, is minimal. There was a noisy neighbor who would come home late at night and do nothing to be quiet or courteous while going up the building stairwell, but it was a transitory problem. I've now stayed in this apartment twice and I would stay here again. It's a good value.
A special note about VIP - they were always very prompt, responsive and professional whenever I contacted them. It was a pleasure doing business with them.
The apartment safe wasn't easily accessible (no coding instructions) for use. VIP did get me a solution on how to use it but I think it would be much better to just have instructions for using the safe readily available on-site for the renters.
To VIP: Thanks for your services. I would gladly use your service again if we can connect on an apartment.

Comments:The shower was superb relative to ease of use and water pressure. After long days walking in Paris, this comfort was very important to us.
One more minor comment: There was reference in the information booklet in the apartment about disposing of trash that specifically mentioned recyclables. However, the outside trash containers did not accommodate separating out recyclables.
This was our first visit to Paris and our first experience with VIP. Frankly, we did not know what to expect relative to the apartment. Our overall experience far exceeded any expectations we had prior to our stay. The online description of the apartment did not do it justice in terms of comfort, cleanliness, size and location. We felt at home from the moment we walked in the door. We would definitely rely on VIP again and particularly this apartment.

Comments:The staff at VIP have all been very helpful, the process easy, description of the apartment was accurate! Getting the the keys, address and arrival information made arrival easy. We had no problem finding the apartment. The bedroom bed is comfortable, the fold out bed not as comfortable for two adults but we made it work. The kitchen had everything we needed to make lovely meals. In future information sheet I would include information on turning on the hallway and stairwell lights. The white button just inside the first door and second door as well as at the top of the stairs "looks like a doorbell" but is actually a button that turns on the lights in the hallway and stairwell, then turns off after a set time. We thought it was a buzzer so we used a flashlight until a lovely tenant in the building pointed out the button. I would highly recommend the apartment and would use VIP in the future. Excellent location - perfect for the person who enjoys cooking and walking to the Eiffel Tower. Rue Cler (Julia Childs favorite) is just around the corner! Merci'

Comments:This is my second stay in #56. The pull-out couch that is now in the living room is awful. We had to put the mattress on the floor to get a night's rest. It's not nearly as good as the trundle bed downstairs in #1. It look fairly new which is too bad.. it needs to be replaced with a better sleep solution.
Tell the owner that the team working on the downstairs apartment was there every morning before 8 am... thus my rating for noise inside the building. Otherwise there was no noise.
There weren't enough towels and washcloths for three people. We had to ask for more. And the quality of the towels wasn't great.
The new kitchen (since I last stayed there) is nice.
WiFi worked without a problem. We didn't use the TV.

Comments:The property manager was a delightful person and explained everything very well. We were very tired when we arrived and as a result, we forgot some of the things she said, for instance, how to work the coffee pot. . It would be very helpful to leave these instructions in the unit for guest to refer to later. Also, I think you might leave some essentials in the unit such as salt and pepper, ice in the freezer, soap in the bathroom. We left several items behind that we had no more use for and I suspect the previous guests did the same. Yet there was no supplies like this in the unit.

We didn't spend that much time in the apartment, but it certainly met our needs for a family of 3 quite well. Comments:The furnishings and linens were a little tired looking and feeling, but still acceptable. The sink in the bath in the bedroom leaked on to the floor - had to call maintenance and they did fix the leak. Then the water just dribbled out...no water pressure at all so had to brush teeth in kitchen. Bathroom with tub/shower - would have been nice if the shower appliance was attached higher to the wall rather than at knee level so had to hold up while showering. Toilet "ran" so had to have maintenance check it out. I must stress, though, that there were no major turn-offs with this apartment (felt authentically old French) and the location was fantastic - would definitely stay here again! This location was fantastic - the Rue Cler just steps away with wonderful restaurants and shops - could walk to Eiffel Tower and so many places. Post Office close by...I am missing Paris already!

I would definitely rent from VIP again in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in renting a unit in Paris. However, I would like to try a different arrod. to stay in the next time if I am able to return to Paris. There was a little white mouse that I saw 2 times in the apartment. It probably came in through the door gap, or there was a little whole in the wall baseboard. Luckily I'm not scared of a mouse, if it was a rat that would have been different.

Comments:The apartment was cozy and convenient. The accommodations like the furniture and linens were very basic, but totally acceptable. Since it is an older building, you could hear the neighbors getting up for work in the morning, but, again, it was acceptable.
The main reason I loved this apartment was its location. We were walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and Rue Cler with all it's wonderful shops was just down the block. The apartment was also located just blocks from public transportation that took us to all the major tourist attractions (the bus to the Champs Elysee, the train to Notre Dame and Versailles, etc) Since we had relatives in Paris, it would have been convenient to know how to pick up messages on the answering machine. If there were instructions, I couldn't find them.

Comments:We really enjoyed the apartment and stay in Paris. We loved the area the apartment was in, and there was good space for 4 people. The only item, and we knew this going in, was only two beds. With two older kids I shared the sofa bed with my son and my wife shared the bed with my daughter. We would probably look for an apartment with three beds, as close to this location as possible! The gelato store to the right on Rue Cler was OUTSTANDING, and one of the highlights of the visit. The ideal flavor was the "salato de burro" or something similar, which was like an english toffee. We ate at both the main cafes as you enter Rue Cler and they were both good. For a true market, would recommend Saxe-Breuteil (if spelling is right). This was right behind the Ecole Militare and is Thursday and Saturday or Sunday. We went Thursday morning and truly enjoyed that visit. Overall, a wonderful visit, and many thanks for the spot for us to rest after touring all over the city!

Comments:Second time staying in this apartment Furnishings were more than adequate, showed a little wear (just like home) but was very clean. We have stayed in two other apartments and they have all been acceptable but decided this is the one we will come back to. This location in PERFECT and will definitely be our first choice on a return trip. Do you give discounts to repeat users? This was our 4th rental and want to come again. :)

Comments:We rented this apartment because of the location and because we enjoyed the studio flat downstairs in the past. This trip we required additional space for a third person. We were also attracted by the additional 2 piece bathroom in theh bedroom. The kitchen was poorly equipped and eating space is very small for the 3 of us. We would consider renting the studio flat downstairs over this one. Also, the pub down the street was noisy so sleeping in the livingn room was a problem although the bedroom on the other side of the building was quiet. Updating the kitchen and placing a smaller dining table there will make the flat more comfortable. Really, it's only suitable for 2.

Comments:There were a couple of maintenance/cleanliness issues, such as paint peeling in the bathroom, sauce splatters on kitchen baseboards, fan and light over kitchen range were not working. Building/staircase needed maintenance and cleaning. We also noticed a sewer-type smell in the afternoons but were told by our friends that this is normal for French drainage systems; you may want to advise future clients of this, as we thought it was a problem with our toilets. We appreciated the free calls to the US very much and the free wi-fi. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you.

Comments:We had a wonderful time. The apartment was perfect. In the small bathroom, the toilet seemed to stick (kept running water after flushing). My husband was able to make it stop by looking inside at the float. It did it twice so we didn't use it anymore. No other problems.

Comments:Thank you so much for this wonderful accommodation. It was my third time staying there and my travel partner loved it so much she said she would stay there again and never at a Hotel again! The family/people directly above the apt child is VERY noisy and stomps or jumps on the floor A LOT. It's quite irritating, when we are told to be quiet, yet the residents are not expected to do the same. Outdoors on weekends and late at night, there were some unsavory charachters lurking about, drinking and laughing, sort of partying in the street and one night they left a horrible bunch of garbage on the street outside our door. This will not keep me from staying there. I will stay there again and again and again and will continue to recommend it to others! Please consider leaving more toilette paper for the bathrooms. Merci Boucoup! Monica It's just a wonderful location and fantastic accommodation!

Comments:We loved this place. If we go back to Paris we would stay here again. The location was terrific. The small street was very quiet. I felt very safe. The place was clean and easy to use for the 4 of us. This is an incredible deal for 4 people. Everything was perfectly in order. The directions were alittle overwhelming but superb.

Comments:It is awkward to wash your hair using the hand held shower in the bath. There needs to be a way to support it high so that it can be used standing up without holding it. We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is well located and excellent for two people. The information supplied is extensive but it is worth telling people to obtain a bus map from a Metro station and use the bus to get around. We stumbled on this by reading through the diaries in the apartment and found the buses to be a really good form of transport because you can see the city as you travel.

Comments:Fantastic! We had such a good time. The location was great with good restaurants and shopping close by. Walking to the Eiffel Tower was easy. We recommend Cafe Constant as a great place to eat. We had dinner in the apartment with friends and the kitche The door at the entry to the stairwell area was not working when we arrived. It was still broken when we left.

Comments:The apartment was much smaller than anticipated...good photos on the site. Although functional, the kitchen was made for one person at a time. The bathroom in the bedroom was also tiny, you could brush your teeth while sitting on the toilet. The towels were a little scratchy...air dried possibly instead of dryer. The location was good, but my son thought the alleyway was "sketchy". Overall, we felt safe and it was in good proximity to the Eiffle tower and restaurants and grocery stores. We weren't there much so it worked out fine. I would recommend it - depending on who would be going... There are some people I might not recommend it to - just depends. The front door was tricky at first, however, the second security door gets stuck a lot and you have to really push or pull it to get it open (and it's noisey).

Comments:Inside noise is not much different than the noise one would hear at a hotel. Being on a side street helped with keeping it quiet at night. The apartment was perfect for two adults. Loved being so close to Rue Cler, which had lots of neighborhood type shops to ensure we got a sample of 'living like the French' during our two week stay. Very close to a Metro stop which was handy for going places. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Comments:This is the 3rd time I've stayed at this apartment. LOVE the location. This time the second entry door (glass) into the building did not shut properly and so didn't feel real secure. The pillows in the bedroom could use upgrading. And would it kill someone to put that shower nozzle up on a pole! It is always easy working with you guys. I get the keys in the mail, and then send them back when I get home and get my damage deposit check right away.

Comments:as always, the rue cler is a great location
feel free to use me as a ereference- but selfishly I want the apt to be available when I plan to come back each January :)
it might be helpful to talk a little about the stairs and that briging two smaller bags instead of one larger might be best
also- for new people- instructions about the hallway lights would be good...
and- the wifi access in your instructions were not complete; luckily I found their separate red book of notes- would be good to let people know about that or correct your information..silver ware was a bit sparse

Comments:What a wonderful stay we had in the Eiffel Hideaway. Perfect location (7 minute walk from Ecole Militaire metro stop- #8 line) in trendy 7th arrondisment. Metro day pass was the best deal, and got us where we needed to go (expires at midnight). Lots of restaurants/cafes, patisseries, cheese and high quality fresh food and wine market shops/stands with live performers within 5 minutes' walk on and around historic Rue Cler. Walk 10-15 minutes to Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, and Rue du Bac's high-end boutiques. Walk 1/2 hour to Latin Quarter, Musee d'Orsay, and a bit further to Notre Dame. Bateau Marche was a great rec for traveling La Seine. The apartment was quite warm over a snowy weekend. Charming and homey, with all of the necessities, even tea, wine, a classical CD collection and a stereo tuned to Parisienne radio! We never got the wifi or electric tea kettle to work, so we used the coffee maker and internet cable instead. Otherwise, quiet, safe, and tidy with ample room for three adult friends. A real deal for Paris! Thank you again for your recommendations and for accommodating both our last minute booking and late check out. Only suggestion would be to replace towels, shower curtain and bath mat, as they looked functional, but quite worn for a guest accommodation. And maybe consider adding something scented, as there was a bit of a stale scent.

Comments:There wasn't enough towels and some were to small. There was a child fussing and crying a little but only in day time, never at night. This was OK with us, we tried to remember to not laugh to loud. We loved the apartment and plan on returning when we return to Paris.

Comments:The Apartment: The furnishings were all worn, the floors dirty, the bathrooms minimally cleaned when we arrived. The day bed in the living room was very uncomfortable. The towels were old and worn - and there were not enough for 3 people.
The Vacation in Paris staff: the information received was excellent; the maps and apartment info were correct and very useful. However, it took 4 calls to the US office to get the apartment key mailed to us!
The location was superb! We loved the neighborhood, the proximity to Rue Cler and the Seine.
The noise inside the building was an issue: we could hear every step and movement in the apartment next door and upstairs. When the neighbor went in or out their door (which they several times very late at night) it sounded as if someone was trying to open the apartment door! Even though the general quality of the furnishings and cleanliness was less than we would have liked, the internet listing was factual and the apartment reasonably priced given the superb location. I would not recommend this apartment to a friend, but I would recommend Vacation in Paris as a source. I would encourage the owner to upgrade some of the furnishings - especially the mattress on the daybed and the chairs in the living room.

Comments:A clean, safe and cosy apartment in a great location. We arrived in Paris from Australia with key in hand, and located the apartment after a #42 bus ride from Gare de Nord and a short walk. Everything worked fine from the outset, and we loved being 50 mtrs from Rue Cler, and enjoyed our Paris experience immensely. Many thanks to the VIP team.

Comments:The location and amenities worked well for us as we were 2 parties traveling together and liked the convenience of 2 apartments in the same building. Loved the Rue Cler area re. markets and food shopping and that the apartment is in a very quiet side street. In the future would probably choose somewhere in the 5th or 2nd arr. within better walking distance of more sights. This is my second rental w/ VIP and I would not hesitate to rent with you in the future. I have recommended you to friends.

Comments:Master bed slightly slanted.
Would have been nice to have couple of packets of "instant" coffee and cream for first night.
Could have used more cooking utensils.
Nice having radio.
Apartment in a great location. Loved shopping for food and having a kitchen!
Please remind whoever rents the bottom apartment (Garden Apt.) to keep their voices low. You can hear everything in the #56 unit from below.
I can't think of anything about this apartment that would be considered a "deal breaker".
Once you got used to everything, it was really quite comfortable. This was a first for us at renting an apartment while traveling, and we would do it again! Most things were reachable by walking. Don't bother with going out to eat. Baguettes, cheese, "ham", whole roast chicken, butter, and veggies is what we existed on for a week!
...and the bottle of wine....
