Comments:There was a comment in the visitors book about the air conditioner not working. We turned it on the first afternoon we were in the apartment to circulate the air and couldn't seem to get it to cool despite having the setting on the air conditioner (not the fan). It was not hot enough to turn it on again during our stay but it would be worth checking into it as it was one of the reasons we chose this apartment in the summer noting how hot it can get in Paris. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this apartment and would highly recommend it and Vacation in Paris rentals. Thanks for making everything so easy and providing such high quality offerings.

Comments:The elevator was broken upon arrival so we had to carry our bags up 4 flights of stairs - a bit of a challenge with 4 large bags but we managed! From comments in the local guest book it appears this is an ongoing issue in this building. We were fine with it and able to adapt but you may want to mention to elderly guests that this can happen.
The apartment location was perfect for our needs. Me and my husband and two teenage daughters. Having adapters available in the apartment was a nice plus as was the hair dryer!

What a beautiful little place! This apartment was ideal for two adults; slightly crowded but manageable for four, as we were. It is clean, quiet, and so convenient to Rue Cler, the Eiffel Tower and the Metro. Thankfully the elevator worked fine for luggage or two people. We enjoyed our cafe au lait across the street at Pain et Chocolate each morning and had a fabulous dinner at L'Auberge Bressane next door to it one night. Try the cheese souffl

Comments:We loved the location. ... near metros and Rue Cler.. a favorite haunt. Loved having free phone and WiFi.
The elevator is tiny and quirky but rather fun esp for our 7 yr old grandson. The space was great for us and would be fine with 2 children. 2 couples would be too intimate for my taste as the 2 bathroom facilities are on 2 different ends of the apt so you would have to tramp through each other's space.!
The WC room is very small as is often the case in Paris apts. The washbasin is above the toilet! Amazing use of space. The shower room was spacious, nice shelves. Bedroom had nice big cupboards and hangers, drawers etc.
One very nice touch for NAmerican travellers was the availability of a converter and adaptors for appliances etc.
The bottle of wine was good and a nice welcoming touch.
Refrigerator was a good size.
We did not use the washing machine so cannot comment.
Re noise, we could occasionally hear a rumble from the metro. Once at night some one yelled for Leo! Otherwise it was a quiet bldg... did not seem to be fully occupied.

Comments:The elevator was very small. Basically it was a one person elevator that was a bit claustrophobic. Still, better than no elevator at all. Improve on the key exchange. One of the reasons that we selected the apartment was to have keys on arrival. VIP was unable to make this happen.

The elevator is very temperamental.

Comments:The cabinets, drawers, counter tops were dusty, required cleaning with damp cloth prior to unpacking or using kitchen. The bed linens were amazing; softer towels, washcloths, hand towels would have been nice. Shower drain was clogged, needs thorough cleaning so drains properly. 4 light bulbs were out throughout the apartment. We would have gladly changed if spare bulbs were stocked. We loved the apartment and location! The amenities made for a very comfortable stay. Suggestions: 1)Install a toilet paper holder on inside of toilet door 2)Add more wall shelves on either side of bed or additional small tables like metal one in bedroom 3)Improve lighting in bedroom especially over mirror so can be used as dressing area.
The apartment was perfect for our week in Paris. We highly recommend the apartment and will consider renting again.

Comments:This apartment was an excellent choice. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment was well stocked with everything we needed. I had brought electric converters with me, however, there were 4 converters in a kitchen cabinet, which is very convenient. The code for the wi-fi connection was in the apartment instruction booklet and worked with no problem. We did breakfast at home every day and the apartment had everything needed even if you were cooking dinner there. Very convenient to two metro stops, a supermarket and bakery. Rue Cler is a very short walk and a great place to buy wine and cheese and offers many restaurant choices. The Napoleon/Army Museum is right around the corner and the Eiffel Tower is a 15 minute stroll. The elevator is very small and says it accomodates 3 people but would not move when we had 2 people in it. Either have to go one at a time or walk up a spiral staircase of 77 steps. That's Paris. I have rented before from Vacations in Paris and would never hesitate to recommend them for your Paris apartment rental. I would rent this apartment again. Just that by using your Company for our rental, it made our stay most enjoyable and will definitely be back in the future when planning our next trip to Paris, possibly next year.

Comments:This may be typical with a European apartment, but we did find that there was typically some sediment on the shower floor each morning. It appeared that something would back up into the shower (perhaps impacted by a shower in an apartment adjacent)? It didn't impact us or cause us an issue - but just an fyi for you.
The apartment was so wonderfully located and convenient to the Metro, Rue Cler, Eiffel Tower, Invalides, etc. We were thrilled with the location!!! N/A

Comments:I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a central place to stay near the Eiffel Tower. The apartment was in excellent condition, the beds (including the sofa bed) had high quality mattresses and the kitchen was well equipped with everything one might need. The neighbourhood is wonderful for walking, food shopping and very close to two metro stations. There are also some very good restaurants nearby, notably "Cafe Constant".
I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to "Vacations in Paris" for their exceptional service. Since our return to Canada, I have already told friends about this website and will not hesitate to use it again.

We then left the apartment as we had just arrived and needed to eat. We came back and they were there and were so willing to help and fix the issue. They got it back on, but while they were there it went off again. They temporarily fixed the issue and had a repairman there the following day. It DID NOT interrupt our visit at all. They were VERY helpful and wanted to do everything they could to fix the problem.

Comments:We were very comfortable in this apt and this was our 2nd time renting #74. As far as the furnishings, the only recommendation would be perhaps a small coffee table or end table as when one sits on the sofa there is no place to place a book, cup, glass etc. We bring out the small metal round stool found in the bathroom and use it as a very small table in front of the sofa. Also, a hook on the bathroom door would be nice to place a towel or robe. One more item is the very large and clunky CD player that is left on the kitchen table and is quite archaic. We immediately move it out of the way as we know we wouldn't be using such a thing. Maybe other folks use it but we end up playing music from my iPad or iPhone. These are very small issues and hardly worth mentioning but since you asked.... We would definitely rent this apt. again and probably will next Oct. It feels like our home in Paris and we enjoyed shopping on the rue Cler and made several lovely dinners from our visits to the markets.

The toilet room (separate from the shower room which is adjacent to the bedroom) is a bit awkward, but we managed. Not so good if you have mobility issues. Kitchen well equipped although I didn't understand some of the instructions re the washing machine. However, I talked with the manager & he helped me figure out the products I was supposed to use. Comments:We had a wonderful time at the apartment. We hope to be able to return again in the future. Once we learned how to use everything it was great. The a/c hose would not stay connected to the wall and just blew hot air back into the room so we got some rolls of tape and repaired it. Worked fine after that. The area was great. so close to everything - shops,groceries,metro/buses. We definitely will not come in August next time due to closing of so many area businesses, but we still found plenty to see and do. The weather was perfect.. We enjoyed the wine. Also the suggestions by the owner and renters for getting around and places to get necessities. We had a wonderful time for 12 days in Paris.

Comments:Great location and so convenient to many things. Bed was very comfortable. Building was quiet. Was really nice to have the laundry machine available. Reviews had stated that clothing came out very wrinkled but we did not find this to be true. I suspect that if you launder too large of a load it might happen but as long as you kept loads to the recommended size the clothes came out ready to wear. Communication throughout the process was great and we really appreciated having the keys with us. We had an unanticipated delay of our arrival time in Paris so it was especially nice not needing to worry about obtaining a key upon our arrival. Appreciate the travel books.
All in all a great experience. Would stay again and have recommended it to friends.

Comments:Excellent location, close to metro, restaurants and grocery store. Very quiet location even though on main street because it faced the inner courtyard.
The internet worked perfectly. The bed was really comfortable -- much appreciated.
Thank you for the bottle of wine but I did not use it (I don't like to drink alone).
I really like the system of providing the key and instructions in advance. Really saved time and anxiety re meeting a contact (I have missed such contacts in past re other flats because of last minute unavoidably late arrivals, etc.)
The information book was comprehensive and very helpful, but there were so many changes and written comments that it was confusing at times and needs rewriting.
The toilet room and bathroom were claustrophobic -- I understand the reason in such an old building but was not ideal. The lights in the living room went out for no apparent reason one evening and never worked again -- I did not call the local contact because it was light so late in the evening I did not really need them.
Re laundry -- I prefer to use only the wash cycle on the machine because the dry cycle leaves clothes wrinkled. I did not want to hang my clothes in the bathroom and turn on the heated towel rack as suggested in the information book because the weather was very hot and this would have made the bathroom and bedroom very hot and humid. I would suggest provision of a drying rack. I have rented other flats in France and a drying rack for clothes was always provided and was very useful.

Comments:The house book could use a good editing. I believe most of it was written by the previous property person, Morgan. He wrote in all capital letters, in a spidery hand. This has not aged well, over time. When you first get there, trying to discern his hand I like the system of having the keys for the property before leaving the US. This eliminates the need to coordinate with a property manager, and avoids trying to use a SIM card that is not working properly or finding a local phone to reach the person.

Comments:The beds are very comfortable, but we were lacking pillows for the sofabed. We had to make pillows out of the sofa cushions. It would be helpful to have extra pillows in the closet, because some guest may have a bad back and needs extra pillows.
Also, fluffy towels would be helpful. The towels were thin and very rough. Hard on the skin. But it was okay.
The stove top was difficult to start. Only 2 burners were working. And it was not easy for it to start.
The location was excellent!!! We really loved it. We would rent the same place again. As a matter of fact, a lot of our friends are thinking of going to Paris and we are telling them about the apartment. When the restaurant is open and they are cooking, the smell of the fish is really bad. Also, when they throw away the bottles of wines, late at night, it is really noisy.
Is there anyway you can get more English channels or options to watch movies?

Not a real problem that can be corrected with very easily. The gas oven temps were in Celsius. Hard to figure for me. The sink drain was slow and backed up into the shower. But heck, I loved this place. Excellent location, quiet and excellent beds. Have anyone contact me and I will highly recommend. We could not figure out the air conditioner. It made too much noise in the QUIET apartment. We really did not need it and just used the electric fan on the warmer days We stayed for thirty days. We have a good feel for the place in June.

The water temp in the shower was variable and likely to suddenly go freezing cold. The instruction book was strangely written with many shouty capitals repeating what NOT to do. Not a very welcoming feel.

Comments:One general comment -- the apartment documentation is superb. But the tone is a bit negative, and one ends up not being totally comfortable in the apartment. For example there were instructions about not washing copper pots but there were no copper pots to be found. Also, given the photos in the documentation, you might want to include photos in the instructions on how to open the apartment. Finally, it would have been helpful to have some personalized restaurant recommendations (and also a neighborhood map showing for example, Carrefour City with the hours).

Comments:Really an amazing apartment and the overall experience truly exceptional. Everything worked (once we read the materials) and the decor and general condition of the apartment most comfortable. Its location near the Rue Cler neighborhood and to the Musee d'Orsay was exactly what we wanted and the easy access to the Metro stop an added convenience. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view into the little courtyard was great. The ambiance of quiet, tasteful charm was perfect for our stay. We felt that the apartment gave us an experience of actually living in Paris as opposed to just visiting as tourists.
The pdf file sent to us explained most everything very well. Some minor glitches: I don't believe the file includes information on the location of the garbage cans on the property or on which apartment on the 4th floor was ours (made for a few anxious moments as we arrived early and didn't want to try opening someone else's door!). I went over this with Morgan and he said he would look into it. We used the oven a few times and even after reading the manual several times did not quite figure out what the symbols on the dials went so basically went with the flow and cooked our meals somehow. More specific instructions might be helpful for the next client. WiFi was spotty, which is probably endemic. Finally, a kudos: although the guest book describes hot water as being inconsistent, we never had a problem! The experience of arranging our stay was a very good one. Folks from VIP were very easy to email and talk to on the phone. The apartment conditions were kept to a very high standard. The financial arrangements and mailing of keys proceeded without a hitch. We utilized the company recommended on your website for transfers to and from the airport, which went well. We would absolutely utilize your service again, and would be happy to stay in the same apartment without hesitation.
I have a few suggestions, realizing that most are above and beyond your present scope of activities. However, in these competitive times, VIP could consider removing some the disadvantages of rental apartments as compared to hotels:
1. One of the major advantages of staying in a hotel, and not available in an rental apartment, is the concierge service available at most hotels to make reservations at restaurants and other tourist sites. Sometimes these reservations can even be made prior to arrival. I found it quite difficult to arrange restaurant reservations prior to arrival due to the language barrier and lack of email response for the most part from the restaurants we wished to communicate with. Perhaps VIP might wish someday to include a concierge service so as to facilitate reservations for clients. This would certainly be value-added. I think most clients would be willing to pay a fee for this service.
2. The inability to enter the apartment before 9:30 AM is certainly understandable as the previous clients are there. However for those travelers who arrive at off hours (as we did at 6 AM), there might be some value in addressing this situation in your documents, as this is another issue which usually doesn't exist for hotels. We ended up having coffee (for 90 minutes!) in a cafe on the Rue Cler. The staff couldn't have been nicer despite our hauling in our luggage inside and taking up another table with it. Perhaps VIP could include a list of "welcoming" cafes or other resting places near each property.
3. One of the most enjoyable activities for us was shopping for dinner, which we invariably prepared and ate in the apartment (great kitchen). You have a great description of neighborhood vendors for foodstuffs and wine in the pdf guide. You may wish to include a description of the neighborhood markets, the arrondisements where they are located, and the days of the week that they occur.
4. The transfer company (Global Transfer) recommended on your website was great to deal with, but they do not include a tele

Comments:Because of our own schedule and agenda, this was the ideal location. I might not have said the apt was "elegant", but I would definitely say all the furnishings and appliances were top quality--the best we have had with any the apts. In fact, we tried to rent it again in Sept., but it was booked--so hopefully we will be able to rent it again next April.
This is the sixth apt (plus 1 house) we have rented from you since Jan. 2008, and we are renting #203 in Sept. Because we usually stay a month, do you have any plans to rent apts on a monthly, rather an daily basis?

Comments:The apartment was very nice, in excellent shape and very clean. It was very comfortable and I especially appreciated the large kitchen. It was quiet with living and bedroom both facing an interior courtyard and the elevator was right outside the door. Location was very convenient, just 2 blocks from the Metro and very close to the Rue Cler market street. Overall a very nice location and stay.

Comments:We would recommend the apt to friends as long as we could explain some of the details. We found the need of hooks on bathroom door or wall for change of clothes or dressing after a shower. A nest of tables that could store easily out of the way when the LR bed is open, but be of service for those usng the sofa. We did not find that comfortable with no place to put down books or cups etc. Thank you for the wine and flowers, a nice addition and welcome. Your instructions were particularly good and detailed. Much warning about keys etc, useful I am sure. And the neighorhood suggestions were a help. thank you. And Happy New Year.
